POSITION TITLE: Sales Manager, Northern California Region

REPORTING TO: President

LOCATION: East Bay

Our company sells products into the construction and home use industry. We are a respected leader in our field and provide excellent customer service, installation and project management to our customers.

We are seeking a Sales Manager to cover Northern California, manage existing salespeople, perform outside sales in the immediate area, and be actively involved in the continued growth of the company.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Structure and manage the existing sales operation.
  • Develop, refine, implement, and measure all appropriate sales metrics needed to grow sales to meet company objectives.
  • Provide sales and management leadership to three sales people in Northern California and one in Las Vegas. Assist salespeople in the mechanics of their sales, provide ongoing sales training, ride along on sales calls.
  • Work closely with salespeople to develop a strong overall sales team, meeting sales quotas and providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Create and maintain relationships with builders, developers, construction companies, and other sales targets.
  • Develop business and sales opportunities for the company for short and long term sales.
  • Provide input to the company regarding new office locations, corporate development and building the sales organization.
  • Service an active sales territory: develop new accounts, project management, provide customer service and follow up for additional sales opportunities.
  • Maintain sales accounting, including leads tracking, pre- and post- sales follow up and project management duties.
  • Sales analysis: utilizing sales data to determine sales projections, tracking productivity, developing sales plans, etc.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of seven years of outside sales experience in selling to the construction industry.

Proven track record with demonstrated results in the following areas:

  • Managing existing customer accounts as well as closing new business in a structured commercial or industrial sales environment.
  • Identifying and selling to decision makers.
  • Meeting sales goals.
  • Relationship building with potential and existing customers.
  • Tracking all sales activity and contact information.
  • Dedicated customer follow-up.
  • Sales team management experience.
  • Cold calling, generating referrals and prospecting for new business.
  • Provide planning expertise to maximize each day's activity.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong personality to pursue sales, and hold team members accountable to goals.
  • Organized to provide and administer tools to team: quotas, training, motivation, etc.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and PC skills are required.
  • Willingness to learn company products.
  • Ability to sell with passion in the marketplace.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Excellent sales presenter.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and compassion toward individual customer's needs.
  • Good sense of humor is an asset.

College degree required.
