GSCF seeks an Assistant Project Manager/Estimator to learn the business, and help out where needed, including various duties with estimating, project management and administration. This is an early career position, intended to add more and more responsibilities over time, and grow in the position. The position is open because the current person is being promoted!

Position Overview:

The APM is motivated and organized, to learn and help with building plan take-offs. We are looking for someone with the desire to move up in the organization, as an Estimator and Project Manager.  The position assists the company Project Administrators, Project Managers, Owner, President, CFO and Executive VP.


You will learn to assist in all facets of the position. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


  • Work with various construction and contract documents.
  • Read, review, and understand construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals and estimates for commercial flooring work.
  • Create prompt and accurate estimates or bids as necessary.
  • Estimate projected and anticipated change orders.
  • Maintaining communication with all parties involved in the installation process.
  • Attends and take photos at job site walks, take notes during company meetings.
  • Prepares installers work orders.
  • Communication with clients and vendors.
  • Assist and cooperate with Project Managers in maintaining good customer service relations and activities.
  • Respond to all queries from clients, vendors and general contractors both with email and follow-up calls.
  • Obtain material quotes& inventory materials per project.
  • Request/order and track samples for submittals.
  • Plan Take-offs for flooring area and perimeter on commercial projects.

 Early career position. Three to seven years of office experience.

VERY strong, intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Must be able to illustrate proficiency.

Strong MS Office skills, including Word & Outlook.

Strong natural math skills; have a head for numbers.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Enjoy meeting new people, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.

Detail oriented, and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately.
Ability to cope with the pressure of strict deadlines and multi-tasking.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with estimating, floor installations, flooring sales, project management or construction is a plus.

Team oriented; collaborative and willing to help others.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Outgoing, positive, & upbeat personality.



High school diploma required.

College degree not required, but all education is a plus.



Salary $40-55k.
