POSITION TITLE: Business Development Executive

REPORTING TO: Director of Marketing and Business Development

LOCATION: Fremont, CA 94538

The Company seeks a Business Development Executive to play a critical role in developing new sales opportunities through extensive cold calling, researching new target organizations, client meetings, networking and working closely with partners in the industry, and executing sales and marketing strategies

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meet with potential and existing clients to determine consulting service needs, project initiatives, and goals. Quantify The Company opportunities and present The Company services and solutions. Coordinate subsequent meetings, as applicable, to gain stronger understanding of client project initiatives and introduce The Company operations personnel. Work closely with the Project Managers to develop proposals, provide on-going support to operations during the course of the engagement to determine additional service opportunities, and manage communications with clients throughout all aspects of the sales process .

Business Development

1. Develop new business opportunities through warm and cold calls;
2. Network with horizontal businesses in Northern California markets such as: architects, general contractors, construction managers, commercial real estate brokers and strategic partners;
3. Conduct sales meetings, both internal and external, to develop sales leads;
4. Assist Marketing Department with project announcements;
5. Research impending events leads from on-line sources;
6. Update and Track new opportunities in ACT database;
7. Participate in industry associations and networking events such as BOMA, IFMA, CORENET, AFCOM, 7X24 Exchange, and CFRT.

Proposals

1. Conduct client qualification discovery with The Company Principal to obtain information on organization, client personnel responsibilities, project initiatives, issues, problems and perceived solutions;
2. Plan and coordinate subsequent client meetings to solidify client understanding of The Company's services, strengthen relationship and convince client to accept a formal proposal for services from The Company;
3. Coordinate The Company internal scope development process through strategy meetings;
4. Working closely with operations team members to develop proposal;
5. Coordinate proposal presentation meetings and determine additional The Company personnel attendance;
6. Close the engagement and obtain signed contracts, purchase orders and other client approvals, as necessary;
7. Maintain project sales and proposals log;

Marketing

1. Participate in The Company tradeshows and conferences;
2. Assist Marketing Director in preparation for yearly Technology Convergence Conference;
3. Follow up on tradeshow and seminar attendees;
4. Answer incoming calls and assist or redirect caller;
5. Perform other duties as required;

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of three years of professional sales or business development and related marketing experience.
    · Excellent and measurable track record of effective cold calling and lead generation and conversion.
    · Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    · Strong project management skills; attention to detail and strong follow up skills.
    · General office procedure skills, priority setting, time management, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.
    · Demonstrate a strong team orientation, must have excellent attention to detail and follow-through abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    · Must possess a dynamic personality with high energy and ability to professionally sell at all organizational levels, especially high level executives.
    · Must be disciplined, self motivated, be able to work independently with minimal supervision and possess high ethical standards in dealings with customers, vendors and The Company personnel.
    · Working knowledge of ACT CRM database is a plus.

    PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

    Willingness and interest in lead generation and conversion, involving extensive cold calling and building and maintaining a network within the industry. "Hunter" personality.

    Strong writing skills, especially in proposal writing and professional communications. Ability to effectively present written technically-based and business information to all levels of prospective clients, client organizations and other target audiences.

    Ability to be a self-starter and to also ask for help as needed.
    Ability to perform well in a team oriented environment.
    Ability to qualify leads and develop a scope of work.
    Ability to meet deadlines.

    Strong research, analysis and project management skills. Adept at deciphering and summarizing complex marketing and competitive information.

    Commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction.
    Technology orientation is a plus.

    EDUCATION:
    Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related major is a plus.
