The Home Services Department develops and provides a relationship service for clients which addresses miscellaneous maintenance and warranty issues, as well as updating of major building systems, including heating, lighting controllers, security, building structure, repairs and smaller upgrades.

This relationship provides ongoing customer service to Plath’s clients, which results in continuously improving, maintaining, and updating the client’s home, ensuring their satisfaction over the long term and providing potential referrals for new projects.

Plath & Company seeks to fill a Project Manager-Home Services Department position to manage these multiple smaller, special and ongoing projects for existing clients.

This is a permanent, salaried, full time position with benefits.


We realize that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what we are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!

The Project Manager works with existing Plath clients, to help them with their smaller needs… various repairs, upgrades, warranty issues, and smaller, individual projects not included in a major remodel.

You will be responsible for managing multiple, simultaneous, ongoing maintenance projects of approximately $50k to $250k in scope, using Plath’s normal resources, including labor and administrative assistance.

Maintain positive relationship with existing clients.

Work directly with clients, trade professionals, service reps, and other vendors as necessary.

Manage all financial aspects of the projects: create budget, monitor job costs, manage change-orders and profitability.

Coordinate all pre-construction activities.

For each project, you will:

Meet with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers, decorators, etc.) to outline the scope of work and initial schedule.

Draft proposals, create/oversee estimates review and execute contract with client.

File for permits. Obtain inspections throughout the project and final.

Create project plan and schedules, using MS Project or Excel.

Plan for and procure resources… field staff, materials, supplies, etc. Review materials with clients as necessary.

Plan and execute sub-contractor contracts and agreements. Oversee all project staff. Review invoices.

Address safety issues and preventative measures at all times.

Run weekly meetings with appropriate parties. Distribute meeting minutes. Maintain information flow among all parties.

Regularly update job and cost schedules.

Closeout the project with all necessary signatures.


Minimum of ten years of experience in residential construction, with at least five years with high-end, luxury homes.

Minimum of five years of project management experience, with all of the above duties and responsibilities.

Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.

Strong MS Office skills, Word, Excel.

MS Project skills are a plus.

Hands-on trade experience is a strong advantage.

Bachelor’s degree is a mandatory requirement. Construction, Architecture, Business, or related classes or majors are a plus.
