Form4 is expanding its Interiors practice. We are seeking to fill a Director of Interior Architecture position to build the practice and lead the group.

We are also seeking to hire two additional Interior Architects.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Interiors team is primarily focused on Workplace Design.
The Director will expand the existing Interiors practice, develop business and work with the team to win projects.
These positions offer opportunities to participate in growing an interior design practice, with the goal to become one of the interior design leaders on the West Coast.
As part of the Workplace Interiors Design team, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with programming and the development of space plans.
  • Schematic design and presentation of assigned projects in our wide body of work.
  • Generating innovative ideas in a fast paced design studio.
  • Develop and enrich the detail aspects of projects in design development through construction documents.
  • Prepare and/or oversee construction documents for permitting, bidding, and construction.
  • Interface with clients and provide the highest level of service, so as to maximize long-term relationships.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals and interview presentations, attend interview presentations, and assist the principals and other team members in winning projects.
  • Responsible for administration and execution of design and documentation of assigned projects.
  • Liaison with management, project team, other designers, consultants, clients, external rendering firms and physical model making firms. Review work product with others.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the projects by committing to utilizing best practices.
  • Assure that all deadlines are met.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: We realize that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what we are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!
  • The Director will have at least three years in the role of manager and successful business development, and a minimum of twelve years of overall professional architectural experience.
  • The Interior Designers will have at least five to ten years of progressive design experience, with a minimum of five years of interior design.
  • Understanding and experience of corporate workplace design and integrated interior architecture projects, including FF&E (furniture, fixtures and other equipment) and overall interior detailing.
  • Excellent design skills.
  • Highly computer literate. Prefer expertise using SketchUp, FormZ, Revit and /or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to prepare FF&E plans and specifications.
  • Consult with manufacturers, as well as research and evaluate FF&E materials and products.
  • Work independently, yet in a collaborative environment, under the direction of the principal-in-charge and/or the design principal.
  • Must have strong graphic skills to create presentations. Use of Photoshop, InDesign, PowerPoint, Keynote and other graphic design software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Successful contributor in a high energy design team environment.
  • Office software skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, etc.

  • Interest and energy level to work at a high volume, busy office. Self-motivated.
  • Have the fortitude and grace to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Project management skills are a plus.


EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design or related field required.
Master’s degree is a plus.
Registered/licensed is a plus; not required.
LEED AP is a plus; not required.
