Mark Cavagnero Associates is an award-winning San Francisco based architecture firm focused on cultural, education, and civic projects. Since its establishment in 1988, the firm has completed a wide range of architectural and master planning projects, including large and small scale institutional, non-profit, commercial, and residential projects. The firm provides a full range of services, from programming, master planning, site planning and conceptual design, through construction documents and administration.

Due to growth, we have created a new position for a Human Resources Manager/Office Manager to join our team.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is focused on providing HR generalist services to the company, as well as general office management responsibilities.

Human Resources
Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing a formal structure for all human resources functions.
Recruiting/hiring/training/counseling/terminating of office administrative staff.
Supervise, develop and mentor two employees (Reception and Admin).
Create process for the onboarding of all staff.
Manage employee relations; resolve personnel issues.
Assist Principals in the HR components of hiring architectural and design employees.
Ensure office compliance with all legal employment requirements.
Maintain all employee files/records/documents in Deltek Vision software and Excel
Process payroll, benefits administration and open enrollment under guidance of the Controller.
Process all San Francisco employment forms, and city and industry business licenses.
Stay current on recent federal, state employment and labor law; well versed in EEOC as well as Affirmative Action plans and programs and EEOC staffing requirements.
Additional HR duties as needed.

Office Management
Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and documents.
Maintain filing system, both electronic and hard copies.
Coordinate office lease renewal and future moves or office expansion.
Light IT, fix copier jams, ink supplies, hardware/software issues. Coordinate with IT service.
Facilities: manage office supplies and coordinate repairs, physical workplace issues.
Plan, coordinate and execute company events.
Assist other departments/employees as needed.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
We realize that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what we are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!

Minimum of seven years of solid Human Resources Generalist experience. At least two years of general Office Management.
Demonstrated track record of success in management, development and implementation of HR best practices in the areas of compensation, recruitment, performance management, training and leadership development.
Experience with Applicant Tracking Software.
Strong employee relations skills and resolution of employee concerns/complaints.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
Prior experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry is highly desirable.
SHRM involvement is preferred.

Willingness to observe and promote company policies, procedures, and the instructions of the Principals.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business or related major. HR Certificate is a plus.
