POSITION TITLE: Site Superintendents (Landscape Installation) Two positions available

 

REPORTING TO: President, Dave Dexter and Lucas Dexter, Vice President.

 

LOCATION:  One position covers Sonoma County and one covers Napa County.  Candidate can live anywhere in either county. Office is located in Calistoga, CA 94515

We seek two Site Superintendents who will oversee the installation of projects on a daily basis.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Overview: The Site Superintendent will oversee the installation projects on a daily basis. S/he will assist with the supervision of all onsite work, supervise/coordinate with all trade labor and subcontractors, and interface with the owner, architect, local officials, technicians and others. S/he will be required to take ownership, and manage each project in its entirety, from overall site supervision to finished project details.

 

Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Review contract documents to determine appropriate installation methods and sequencing.
  • Plan project pre-construction, layout and sequence of activities and schedule.
  • Prepare daily logs for construction activities and daily project reports.
  • Coordinate with project team and building trades for the preparation and processing of project documentation, including, but not limited to submittals, RFI’s and Change Order requests.
  • Manage Dexter crew, sub-contractors, vendors/suppliers, landscape architects and change orders.
  • Manage labor allocation and driver/delivery tasks
  • Quality control from job start to job close out
  • Point of contact for field staff with problem solving
  • Participate in client meetings as needed
  • Ensure job safety standards and code compliance at all times.
  • Comply with and enforce all company policies
  • Deliver the project on time and budget.

 

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

The company realizes that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what they are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!

 

  • Five years of relevant work experience in landscape and/or project supervision/management; at least two years of high-end landscapes, including residential.
  • Strong ability to manage and layout all subcontractors’ work.
  • Excellent hands-on landscape installation skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents, schedules, and cost reports.
  • History of completing projects within budget and schedule.
  • Must work well with all types of personalities and know how to get the best out of your crew.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Computer skills.

  • Physical ability required for frequent lifting or handling of materials, and walking varied terrain of job sites. Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions and on job sites throughout the San Francisco bay area in all seasons.
  • Must have great references from prior supervisors.
  • Clean DMV and active CDL and reliable transportation.

 

 

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

All education is beneficial. Preference given to candidates with landscape and/or construction related education, and/or formal training.
