Leland Saylor Associates (LSA), based in San Francisco and Los Angeles with over 30 years of experience in cost analysis and construction management focusing on education, civic and transit projects, as well as other publicly funded projects. Public construction projects are more complex than ever, with issues ranging from bond funding and financing to technology infrastructure and community outreach that put huge demands on an agency’s resources and require skills and expertise few possess. LSA’s team of dedicated professionals have worked on literally thousands of schools, hundreds of civic and justice complexes, and dozens of large-scale transit and public works projects, bringing commitment, accuracy, and attention to detail that is unmatched in the industry.

LSA has an immediate need for a senior level cost estimator to develop estimates for pipeline projects.

This is a permanent, full time position.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for estimating large and small bore pipeline construction projects.
  • Provide accurate piping, pipe and pipeline design, construction and install estimates.
  • Contact sub-contractors/material suppliers for estimates.
  • Mentor subsidiary company estimators providing training as needed.
  • Review/implement Estimating Policy and Procedures.
  • Review contracts and participate in bid negotiations.
  • Use of HCSS software (http://www.hcss.com/).


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
We are looking for outstanding Senior Estimator with demonstrated ability to produce meticulous estimates at Concept, Schematic, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
A minimum of seven years of piping project and field estimating experience with pipeline contractor, large engineering contractor or major designer is required, but, 10-15 years would be preferable.
Ideal candidates must have a strong background estimating gas transmission pipelines, process pipelines, and/or water conveyance pipelines.
If you have worked on long pipelines, (10,000 linear feet), then you can be trained in welded steel estimating.
Experience with pipeline contractor or large engineering  contractor.
Petro/ process, refining or oil exploration experience is a plus.
Strong interpersonal, self-motivation, initiative and teamwork skills.
MS Excel, MS Word, Primavera,  and other scheduling and estimating software, such as HCSS (http://www.hcss.com/).

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Construction or related field desired.
