Thermal Press seeks a seasoned/senior Production Manager/Electro-Pneumatic Engineer to manage the production of both standard and custom automation equipment. We are looking for someone who has creative skills to continuously improve our manufacturing process, as well as our products, both existing and new.
You will be supported by a team of CAD designers and an in-house CNC machine shop. All equipment and tooling is designed in our Livermore facility. Our equipment is shipped to our clients’ factories worldwide, where it is used for the assembly of automotive, medical and consumer electronics.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Production Manager will:
Seek to continuously improve the strategy and structure of the production department.
Perform technician duties, as well as manage and lead a small team of technicians/engineers.
Produce work instructions and workflow processes.
Continue to improve/enhance manufacturing and work flow efficiency.
Bring new technical ideas to the manufacturing process.
Maintain inventory of machine parts and purchased components.
Support the customer service program
Perform other duties as necessary.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
We realize that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what we are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!
Comprehensive knowledge in general electronics and demonstrated expertise in electronic, electro-pneumatic/mechanical, and PLC/HMI systems. (Programmable Logic Controls and Human Machine Interface)
Minimum of ten years of electronic technician experience, and five years of management experience.
Management experience of five to ten engineers and technicians.
Experience in an industrial /manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience working with automation equipment.
Knowledge of electro-pneumatic systems and components. (servo is a plus)
Experience with basic AC and DC electrical systems, both high and low voltage.
Ability to read and write electrical and pneumatic schematics/diagrams.
Leadership qualities; ability to guide and inspire others to excel in their positions.
PLC’s programming a very strong plus.
Relationships with local suppliers is a plus.
ISO certification knowledge is a plus.
Experience with MS Project is a plus.

Microsoft Office and general PC knowledge
Valid driver’s license/clean driving record.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Electronics education is a plus.
