Due to our continuous growth, we are seeking a Director of Workplace Interiors to grow and lead the emerging, busy commercial interiors side of the business.  We want to be recognized as one of the best interior design firms in the Bay Area and therefore want someone with the expertise, enthusiasm, and leadership skills to spearhead the effort in collaboration with the Principals.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Overview: The Director of Workplace Interiors will be a leader to the existing interiors staff, grow the department by developing business, fostering client relationships, and remaining involved with a few key clients/projects.

Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Lead, manage, inspire, evaluate and develop the skills and abilities of the existing interiors staff.
Develop marketing, public relations, business development, and strategic plans.
Make client presentations.
Establish and manage interiors department and project budgets.
Track projects and client relationships through completion and foster future business in the process.
Manage internal and external resources (contractors and vendors), keeping the department cohesive and functioning well.
Coordinate with engineering, technical and exterior architectural teams as appropriate.
Facilitate internal design teams throughout the projects.
Be involved in appropriate industry organizations to foster business relationships.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
We realize that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, but here is what we are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!

A minimum of 15 years of experience in the commercial /workplace interiors design field.
Experience in leading a studio / team, with strong skills in financial management, as well as excellent development of personnel.
Licensed Architect and/or Certified Interior Designer.
Proven success at business development with repeat business/accounts/clients.  Bring strong local client contacts and relationships.
Shown success in design and/or project management of significant commercial/workplace design/architecture projects.
Proficient use of industry appropriate software including, but not limited to Microsoft Office and Outlook and/or MAC Pages and Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, etc. – AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, FormZ, Lumion, Bluebeam, etc.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design.
