Since 1975, locally owned and operated Marin Airporter has been safely, conveniently and reliably transporting passengers to San Francisco airport, in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
Marin Airporter is first and foremost, a Public Service company, providing scheduled bus service between seven Marin County bus stops and San Francisco International Airport (SFO), as well as charter buses and local public transit. All of our vehicles are meticulously maintained by our full-time mechanics, using state-of-the-art testing and safety inspections.
Our charter division provides service to our local schools, community groups, and businesses, as well as visitors from all over the world. We consistently receive top marks for our high standards and responsive service
Airporter also serves as a contractor to Marin Transit for intra-county services.

As the world opens up to travel and public gatherings again, we seek a General Manager/Director of Operations to provide oversight for all operations of the company, as outlined below.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Overview: The GM will work with the Board of Directors to oversee all operations of the company, with particular focus on increasing overall ridership/passenger trips.
Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Create and manage a three-to-five year plan for operations, in conjunction with input from the Board of Directors.
- Research and take advantage of relevant trends in the related industry, including electric vehicles, climate change, business travel, etc.
- Management, mentoring, development, hiring and termination of company personnel, including the CFO, five department managers and staff, and over 100 drivers.
- With the CFO, develop/manage annual budgets, and create appropriate financial reports.
- Consider all internal and external growth opportunities for the company.
- Manage marketing efforts to increase ridership.
- Attend and participate in related professional industry organizations.
- Negotiate all contracts with outside entities and vendors, working closely with department managers.
- Responsible for keeping records for Federal, State, County regulatory agencies./li>
- Create and foster relationships with local business organizations and events; interact with planners, public utilities, and the airport.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
The company realizes that every interested candidate might not have all of the desired experience, and some training will be provided, but here is what they are looking for in terms of experience and skills… the more you have, the better!
- Transportation industry experience is not required. The continued goal of the company is sustained, increased ridership, while developing all employees to their full potential. Customer service background is helpful.
- Ten years of professional business experience, with at least five years in a leadership position, preferred.
- Proven growth of a customer-service centric company.
- Excellent financial management skills.
- Oversee relationships with and reports provided to external advisors, including investment counselors, CPA, tax advisors, etc.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Business major is a plus.
