POSITION TITLE: Project Engineer, Electric Vehicle/Auto

REPORTING TO: President and Founder

LOCATION: Santa Rosa, CA 95401

This company sells electric vehicles, both personal transportation items (scooters, electric bikes, ATV's, etc) as well as electric cars. They are an innovative a public company. To date, the company has delivered more than 90,000 electric vehicles to customers in more than 75 countries, establishing the Company firmly as a leader in the alternative transportation marketplace.

Today, the Company is renewing its focus as a pioneer at the forefront of advanced transportation technologies and leveraging its place in the market as a magnet for new technologies. The Company believes there is a growing and underrepresented market for fuel efficient transportation vehicles and is capitalizing on the opportunities, enhanced by heightened environmental awareness, climate changes and economic pressures. The technologies are there to deliver transportation solutions that are practical and affordable. With its recently introduced products, the Company is already today delivering such solutions to the market. The Company's goal is to become the largest and most complete brand and distribution portal in the United States for advanced technology vehicles.

Accordingly, the Company is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to develop a comprehensive marketing plan to build and increase electric vehicle (EV) sales.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Engineer will execute the product development of electric vehicle cars at the Company: manage the process for refining and improving existing products, as well as lead the development of new products. This includes:

  • Ensure that the primary vehicle continues to be the best it can be in its current price range, with focus on the electrical system, mechanical functions, general features, aesthetics, and safety aspects.
  • Project Management: closely manage the product development process. Manage the details, functions and strategies; work closely with the people involved at each stage.
  • Assist in launching new automotive products
  • Direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of product development.
  • Review and improve product specifications, system layout and drafting, bill of materials and fabrication.
  • Plan, formulate and direct engineering projects within budget guidelines.
  • Analyze consumer and dealer input and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility proposal.
  • Develop and conduct test programs to evaluate product performance.
  • Assist manufacturing with product development and manufacturing to identify and resolve problems.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide technical support as needed to customers.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of five years engineering experience related to electric vehicles, alternative power or related field, including actual hands-on experience
  • Strong background in developing new products, including the design of electrical circuitry
  • Automotive program launch experience
  • Business/trade experience with other cultures, especially in manufacturing. Chinese exposure preferred.
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence and procedure and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, AutoCAD & Solid works.
  • Be familiar with and uphold adherence to applicable federal regulations, including DOT, EPA, CARB and SAE

    Ability to communicate with dealers, retail customers and manufacturers.
    Experience dealing directly with non-American manufacturers.
    Ability to travel internationally, especially to China.

    Committed to taking a new product to market and seeing it through the process.

    EDUCATION:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical preferred.
