POSITION TITLE: Business Development Manager, U.S. Operations

REPORTING TO: Director of Technical Operations & Services

LOCATION: Silicon Valley Territory

OUR CLIENT:

The Company is a globally focused, diversified electronic manufacturing support and services organization, trading with a broad spectrum of customers on an international basis. The Companies have evolved from a product based manufacturing organization to a vertically integrated, services orientated organization supporting a diverse base of clients whose primary focus is electronics and information technology based. The Company is a 20+ year old company, based in Australia, with over $30 million USD in sales.

The Company seeks a Business Development Manager to launch, grow and develop their US Sales operations.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish positive relationship with existing The Company end-user clients with the aim of obtaining business from client by matching The Company offerings with client new products.
  • Establish positive relationship with existing The Company contract manufacturing clients with the aim of maintaining existing business and developing substantial new business from subcontractor and subcontractor's clients by matching The Company offerings with their requirements.
  • Using known contacts in electronics manufacturing industry, develop new business for The Company with The Company product offerings.
  • Maintain client and contact data bases per The Company policy.
  • Working with Director Technical Operations and Service, develop quotations for submission to clients.
  • Follow up all relevant quotations.
  • Identify issues that may effect specific client decisions to use The Company and recommend actions to rectify.
  • Prepare presentations and represent company in public forums.
  • Assist with development and enhancement of company sales brochures and website.
  • Will require periodic overnight travel to Pacific Northwest to visit existing customers, and initial 1-2 week travel to Australia and China.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    Required

  • Extensive sales experience in electronics manufacturing market.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and building positive customer relationships.
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of The Company potential competitors.
  • Initially able to represent The Company to market using known contacts and not requiring cold calling or telemarketing support.

    Desired

  • Technical knowledge regarding electronic manufacturing process: PCB fab, loom assembly, composite product design and assembly.
  • Experience with offshore manufacturing.

    PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

    Excellent communication, organization and negotiation skills with understanding and application of proven selling techniques.

    Effective time management skills are necessary to ensure high quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

    Thorough knowledge of computer and related business applications including MS Office is required, as well as contact management program.

    You must be able to sell value in a commodity driven marketplace and get to the real decision makers.

    Must be customer focused and self-motivated.

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required.
