POSITION TITLE: Marketing Specialist

REPORTING TO: Director of Marketing and Business Development

The Company seeks a Marketing Specialist to organize event planning (tradeshows, conferences, etc) implement various corporate marketing campaigns, and be responsible for all aspects of marketing communications

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with Marketing Director to implement marketing campaigns, tradeshows, and The Company's Educational Conference. Other primary responsibilities include editing proposals, writing press releases, developing new sales opportunities through cold calling and building relationships with new partners in the industry. Work closely with the CEO to create presentations and support the Business Development Executive in preparing sales materials. Assist the Marketing and Business Development Department with marketing projects and on-going routine administrative tasks.

Marketing

1. Create PowerPoint presentations;
2. Implement marketing campaigns for targeted industry groups;
3. Conduct research on tradeshows and conferences for relevance to The Company;
4. Research opportunities for speaking engagements;
5. Work closely with Marketing Director in the planning and execution of events;
6. Set up The Company table top display at shows;
7. Follow up on tradeshow and seminar attendees;
8. Assist Business Development Executive with sales proposal binders and presentations;
9. Review and edit sales proposals and marketing materials;
10. Write internal project announcements;
11. Write press releases for The Company's website;
12. Write resumes for new Project Managers;
13. Schedule and coordinate Lunch and Learn presentations with horizontal firms;
14. Create HTML Flyers for e-mail blasts and other marketing collateral for The Company's events and tradeshows.
15. Redesign The Company's website to show new practice groups;
16. Redesign the marketing literature to reflect The Company's services and new corporate website.
17. Answer incoming calls and assist or redirect caller;
18. Perform other related duties as required.

Business Development

1. Assist with developing new business through cold calls;
2. Follow up on leads from Marketing Director and Business Development Executive;
3. Validate and research leads from networking firms;
5. Enter new leads in CRM Database;
6. Research leads from on-line sources;
7. Develop and maintain networking and client relationships in Northern and Southern California markets;
8. Participate in industry associations and networking events such as, BOMA, WIRE, IFMA, CORENET, and SMPS.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Minimum of three years of professional related work experience, including a minimum of one year in marketing/event planning.
Successful track record of coordinating and managing events including conferences, receptions, tradeshows and other marketing related events.
Excellent writing skills, especially in writing marketing material based on technical information for prospective clients, client organizations and other target audiences.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, ACT, Dreamweaver, and HTML is a plus.
General office procedure skills, priority setting, time management, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate a strong team orientation, must have excellent attention to detail and follow-through abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to conduct internet-based & other types of research.
Experience in selecting, negotiating with & managing outside suppliers (such as printers, photographers and graphics professionals).
Knowledge of professional services proposal, bidding and awards process.
Experience developing and implementing media relations programs and processes beneficial but not required.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent experience.
